How being a ‘people-pleaser’ is killing your business

Nobody likes a “people pleaser”, think about it.

Although we live in a world where we are asked to be polite to everybody for no particular reason. Many times your thoughts and values will not always align with how other people think.

You can take two routes from there, either politely agree with their thought or share your opinion of what you think is right.

Ofcourse, when you share something that is completely opposite to other person’s opinion, it creates friction. And as humans we hate confrontation (again goes back to early man times when confrontation could lead you to be ousted from the tribe). Most of us choose the easy route and politely agree with the other person.

Now, if you are a ‘people pleaser’, there is a conscious reason you can’t be trusted. A person who values other people’s opinion and thoughts more than his/her’s is not a genuine person. It’s like you keep on changing your values and thoughts depending on who you are talking to.

If you are a looking for a long term partnership in business or any kind of relationship, don’t go ahead and choose the person who is the most agreeable but choose a person who actually calls you on your shit.

An agreeable person will always agree with you no matter if you are taking a decision that could totally bring the company to ruins. A person who confronts you and tell you ‘No’ might actually save you from making a horrendous decision.

Same goes for relationships and same goes for life in general. There is something about genuine people that’s deeply comforting. So if you don’t agree with a thought, fight it, show your personality, don’t just be an AGREEABLE FUCK.

What happens then is purely fucking magical, you automatically give the other person a chance to be their genuine self which is rare and they will appreciate you for it.

Always strive to be your most genuine self, no matter how weird or crazy it makes you look. The world will come around. It always does!
