“You are the average of top 5 people you spend the most time with”

In our previous Mentor Steps post, we saw that our subconscious mind is majorly responsible for how our life has turned out (see here if you missed). Now the important thing to look at is what are the major sources which our subconscious mind is feeding from, here’s where the things start getting interesting.

We as humans, during our evolution, over a period of millions of years, have developed an extraordinary information gathering system. Since the time we are born, we start consuming all kind of information we can find, from our environment. We unknowingly learn tons of things from our parents, siblings or other family members and our behavior is mostly a result of all that learning. “When you see your mom being kind to the Maid of the house, you end up being kind too”. It’s indirect inductive learning (Science bruh, believe me)

Alhough we barely notice it, inductive learning plays a huge role in our lives even when we have grown up (sic). You might have seen it with your best friend or spouse, over a period of time if you spend a lot of time with each other, you guys start having the same kind of thoughts, you unknowlingly end up making the same decisions about things and events. We become who we surround ourselves with. This is because just like old times, our subconsicous mind is still feeding from the environment.

Trust me when I say “Choose the people your surround yourself with very wisely”, their thoughts, their actions might become your thought, actions at some point. Stay away from negative people as much as possible, no matter if they are part of your family, close friend circle or any other group. Try to surround yourself with people who are purposeful, motivated and achieving great things in life. If you can’t find a good group of people, try to surround yourself with good thoughts, read good books, watch great ted talks, learn to always be in a positive mind space cause that is when you will make the best decisions.

I’ll be honest, the Law of 5 does have an exception even after me promoting it as a religion; It is not valid for leader personality types and there is a reason for that. Leaders over the years have trained themselves to not be affected by their environment, they essentially have the same thoughts no matter what other opinions or people they are surrounded with, so if you lie in that personality type you have already mastered one really important element for success which is ‘perseverance with your true beliefs’.

We have come to the end and I loved bringing this thought to you, cause it has played a major role in my journey as an Entrepreneur. Anyhow, I would love to read your thoughts about this, share your personal stories or experiences if any. See ya soon, Until next time!

“If I see it in my mind, I am gonna hold it in my hand”

Daily Visualization Practice (DVP) is something I have been doing since I watched a video by Tony Robbins. Somehow this exercise resonated with me a lot and has been with me since then. To give you a stripped down fast food (sic) version of what this exercise is ‘what you basically gonna be doing is write your goals in your notebook daily as if you have already achieved them’. I will explain you the logic of why something like this could actually help you achieve your goals faster.

Have you heard the quote “You get what you deserve”?, that quote has one flaw to it, let me change it to what it actually means “You get what you ‘THINK’ you deserve”. What’s the difference you may ask, there are tons my friend! Let me take you deep down the rabbit hole, get ready for the ride. Murphy said ”The law of your mind is the law of belief itself”, What we believe makes us who we are. Whatever you give your subconscious – false or true, good or evil – it will register as a fact. William James observed that whatever people expect to be true, will be so, irrespective of whether the object of their belief exists or not.

Now, it would be fair to say that, whatever your subconscious ‘thinks’ about your ‘reality’ (sic) will become your ‘reality’ eventually. Thus it becomes increasingly important to learn how to program your subconscious so that you can have some control (‘some’ because whatever you do many factors are beyond your control and you would never be able to factor them in) over your future life. During my research, I got to know there are some really specific ways to train your subconscious.

I will mention 2 of them here: First, ‘Positive Reaffirmations’ – Practice of enchanting things that you want to be true in your life for e.g, somebody would enchant “I am a famous guitarist and play in a world-famous rock band” multiple times and train his subconscious to believe it is true thus making it a reality for him sometime in future. Second, Positive Writings i.e somebody would write “I work as a freelance writer and make tons of money doing it”. Now with both these exercises your desired ‘reality’ and actual ‘reality’ might not coincide, which is perfectly normal. I was doing ‘positive writings’ for 6 months before they actually became a ‘reality’. For some, it could be faster, for some, it might take years but trust me, its gonna happen.

I hope everything is making sense to you now. Subconscious programming or reprogramming is not a new field and many books have been written about the subject. I would suggest you, read The Power of Subconscious Mind if you want to delve deeper into this subject. The Power of Your Subconscious Mind is simply written and tries to be free of culture or religion. It is slightly repetitive, but this in itself mirrors the book’s idea of subconscious programming. (For full effect, the author’s advice that it be read at least twice should be taken.) The first half of the book is the best, as it explains how the subconscious works. The second half deals with its role and power to transform in areas like marriage, human relations, scientific discovery, sleep, fear, forgiveness and ‘eternal youth’.

So we are done for the day, I could go on and on about how this exercise will be really good for you but nothing good comes out of theory. I would like you to personally give this exercise a go and see if it changes your life for good. I am 100% positive it should. Anyways, Have a great day, Until next time!

“Sitting at the beach, with a beer in my hand, watching the magnificent sunset. It was like a deja vu, that mental picture was so vivid and clear. It was at that exact moment I realized my diary had turned real”

I first heard about Perfect Day Plan (PDP) when I joined a 30 days business challenge by some mentor of mine. Looks like, he read about this in a book and decided to give it a go. Within a year after that he was able to build a multi-million dollar business. In my mentor’s words PDP “is the same mental rehearsal/visualization exercise that top athletes and businessmen perform to guarantee success”.

For a rational male like me, who is skeptical about almost everything in life, it seemed too good to be true. My mentor said, “Just do it, don’t think about it, it works like MAGIC, trust me!” so I did go ahead and write my PDP around this month last year. And damn, it blows my mind, it actually does work. My life has totally turned around in a matter of a year, I build a 6 figure online business, total freedom, work out of my laptop, travel anywhere anytime I want, spend time doing things I really enjoy, its been like a dream, to be honest.

Since you are here with me, I believe you want something more from life than working 9 to 5 in your Day Job of Doom (DJD), I will ask you to do the same thing, find a quiet place, do some meditation if you need to, take a page or dairy and start writing your PDP NOW.

The more VIVID you can play this in your mind, the better. You need to FEEL it.

1. It is vitally important that as you write down your day, you do not think about how you are going to achieve this lifestyle. This part comes later and needs to be done separately.

2. Each answer should supremely RESONATE with you. It should be an absolute HELL YEAH!

3. Again – don’t try and fit your current situation into the new one – this needs to be THE ABSOLUTE BEST

4. You have to FEEL yourself doing that thing. Use SENSES by asking yourself:

– what do I see?
– what do I smell?
– what do I hear?
– what do I touch?
– what do I feel?

5. A final word on RESONATION. Your day should seem “just out of reach”. For example, it’s a bit too far out of reach to have a private jet and a billion dollars.

A million dollars and living in the exact house and location you want with a great business is well within everyone’s reach.

Your day should be just out of reach that it makes you slightly uncomfortable, but SUPER excited at the same time.

Shut everything off. Let’s begin!
