“Karma ain’t a bitch..”

Yes, you heard it right, Karma isn’t a BITCH. Infact, i would go even further “karma doesn’t even exist at all”

It’s all smokes and mirror. Your mind playing dirty tricks on you making your look like a scared little pony.

There is no scientific evidence to assume karma exists just as there is none to assume, it doesn’t.

Now with all things that are scientifically unproven, what holds true, is the law of BELIEF. Whatever you believe wholeheartedly, ends up becoming the LENS you use to view the reality.

What if ‘Karma’ is actually not a good belief system. I know it’s widely accepted but hear me out, not every widely accepted belief is necessarily good for you.

The widely accepted belief called ‘Sati pratha’ in India ended up costing life of several women who had lost their husband until it was abolished in 1829.

In my opinion, Karma is nothing but your subconscious (mind) resetting your reality to what you think your deserve.

Everything that you do against your values and ethics, goes and messes with your subconscious (whether you know it or not).

You might become more fearful, have lesser self esteem, feel guilty a lot. It all accumulates over time. And by the law of Self-sabotage, you fuck yourself over when your subconscious can’t take any more of your bullshit.

Now how is this powerful, if karma is nothing but a GAME that your subconscious plays on you. It’s a game you can win,
“Karma is not an end all be all”!

Plenty of evidence to prove we can reprogram our subconscious through affirmations and various other practices.

Now since you know this bit, you can’t keep on blaming and expecting karma to do everything for you.

So stop thinking about karma, it is as real as Santa Claus on a Christmas morning!

And if you still keep on blaming karma for everything in your life, Karma ain’t a bitch, its YOU MOTHERFU*KER!

With this I end my 2nd day of ‘Marketing and Life lessons” with Kartik. Hope it’s being a fun ride for you!

The more i go through life the more i see the importance of self-confidence. Confident people tend to live a much better and happier life compared to the people who are almost always scared out of their wit.

Lets first define self-confidence, according to oxford dictionary it stands for “A feeling of trust in one’s abilities, qualities, and judgement“. Now how do you gain this confidence? I have a really logical mind so i try creating formulas for everything.

After thinking deeply about this topic, this is the GOLDEN formula for self confidence according to me:

Following your moral compass + Getting desirable results = Self confidence

Which you can possibly sum up as self confidence is a direct result of following your truth (or moral compass) and getting desirable results.

In the world, where anxiety issues are at all time high, the only reliable way to counter rising insecurities in people is to teach them to become self-reliant or self-confident. Yes, self confidence can be learned just like any skill in the world.

When you search ‘How to become self-confident google gives you these results”

source: google

Now I agree with many of these points but they are missing a key ingredient. You can do all those things and still end up with a pretty shaky self confidence. You know what is the key ingredient that the article is missing? They forget to stress how important it is to know your ingrained belief systems before you start on this worthwhile exploratory journey of a lifetime.

Imagine this, you are stuck in a desert and you don’t know where you have to go to reach the destination. Would it help if i give you the map without telling you where you are located or what’s your starting point. Of course if you are smart, you will figure out the relative compass directions and maybe figure out which way to go but still without knowing your starting point, it would probably take you days to reach the destination.

Okay, Now i will give you my recipe of developing core self-confidence

Figure out your moral compass and ingrained belief system.

Let go of a belief that doesn’t serves you. Basically figure out if that belief is a bullshit rule that society fed you while you were growing up.

Try and develop beliefs that serve you and help you grow into a wholesome individual.

Write down your core values that you will never compromise no matter what.

Take actions that align with those values going forward.

That’s it, those are the foundation stones of becoming a self-confident and high self-esteem individual.

This article is still incomplete and there are some intricacies i need to take care of but i really wanted to go ahead and post this as i feel like this deserves to be out there. I will be refining my thoughts and adding more actionable advice going forward.

Cheers, until next time!

I have been living the so called nomad life since last 2 years which basically means i haven’t spent more than 2 months in...

I have been living the so called nomad life since last 2 years which basically means i haven’t spent more than 2 months in a single country except India which is my home. And even when i was in India, i didn’t stay in one city for over a month.

Now, let’s get this straight, travelling full-time is fun, extreeeeemly fun actually, but it does comes at a cost. Now that cost could be monetory, emotional, physical or mental and since I didn’t want to travel like a hungry-hippie-wannabe-chic-traveller, i had to get my finances straight.

As you all know, i work out of my laptop full time. I haven’t gone to an office or reported to a boss in last 3 years. You could call me a freelancer, digital nomad or any other term that suits your fantasy. To read more about why i left my job go here

Although, its hard to summarise all of my experience in this article, but i will try to summarise some of the lessons i have learned over the years while travelling :

Airbnb over Hotels : After staying in hundreads of hotels, i decided to try airbnb and never looked back. If you are staying long term. Getting an airbnb is way better as you feel at home and can get a studio apartment for almost as much as you pay for a decent hotel.

Always eat light and carry indigestion meds : What is the most common disease travellers suffer from? Upset stomach/ diarrhea/ indigestion! Always carry some meds for these frequently occuring diseases. You don’t want to waste your trip, sitting inside a toilet, do you?

Keep hydrated : Travelling full time is not easy and your body can get dehydrated really fast. Always arm yourself with a bottle of water wherever you go.

Carry currency beforehand or take out all the currency once you land : ATM charges are really high when you take out currency from foreign ATMs (approximately $10 around the world) so its better to take out the cash all at once the first chance you get.

Travel with light luggage : You might think you will need that golden party dress that makes you look like a king but trust me, you don’t. Try to travel as light as you can, carrying a huge luggage is a pain in the ass specially when you are moving a lot. I carry a backpack with laptop compartment and try to keep everything under 7 kgs.

Try and make friends with locals : Visiting famous tourist spots is fun but you know what is more fun, going to that shady underground pub that’s nowhere on google maps and can’t be found in any city directory. You can only experience the full local living when you make friends with locals.

Be friendly and always greet people with a smile : You might be having an emotional attack or serious relationship troubles but try to be friendly with other travellers and locals when you travel. Nobody likes a sad ass specially when they are travelling. Greet people with a smile, it’s simple but makes all the difference.

Buy sim card when you land : Buying a sim card when you land is the best way to go if you plan to stay for over a week inside a country. The data and call charges are extremely cheap when you buy a local sim. Having an international sim card is cool but not cool when you paying an arm and leg for that.

Always carry a diary or journal when you travel: Clicking pictures is good, but writing your thoughts is the best way to let your inner creative take control and relive the experiences.

Carry a dual sim phone : Many times you would need to make financial transactions when you are in a foreign country. Having a dual sim phone comes handy when you need to verify a transaction by OTP received on your home sim card.

Don’t be a cheap ass : Multiple times i have gone way overboard my travel budget just so that i can enjoy the experience fully. If you get a chance to visit an iconic place or a really luxurious restaurant or lounge, do it! It’s way cheaper than booking the flights again and coming to see only that one iconic place you missed last time.

I’ll keep adding and updating things to this list over time so as you to give you best advice while travelling.

Until next time!

The most important trait of a leader or an Alpha is selflessness i.e trait of looking out for others before looking out for himself....

The most important trait of a leader or an Alpha is selflessness i.e trait of looking out for others before looking out for himself.

Taking a cue from our history

Alphas are not born, they are chosen. They are chosen because they display a sense of selflessness much higher than any other person in the tribe.

Now, what it means to be a true alpha.

All the alphas share some common traits, these are the ones i see in me and other alphas I know

Purposeful: Alphas always have a purpose, usually the purpose aligns with the common interest of the tribe. So in a way tribe is intentionally handing the control to an alpha.

Authority: Alphas exude authority wherever they go. They have an aura around themselves, when they enter the room, you know, they mean business. Other alphas will already feel threatened cause they think their territory is in danger.

Ownership: As a true Alpha, you should be the first to apologise if you make a mistake. People who say, apologising makes you seem weak don’t know shit about social dynamics. It all depends on the frame you come from, when alphas apologise, their frame is “I know I messed up but don’t worry I will fix this shit!”

Effortless: Everything an Alpha does seems effortless, its not because they don’t mess up, its because how they handle the situation when they mess up. Contrary to the popular belief, alphas don’t take themselves seriously, they know they are human and will mess up sometime, they give themselves permission to fail.

Grounded: There are very less things that will shake the confidence of the alpha, cause his confidence comes from the deep belief that he can fix whatever life throws at him. This confidence is a direct result of his life experiences and his strong mindset.

Now Alpha is a gender neutral term, there can be female alphas just as there are male alphas.

In our society the reason so many people are miserable is they are essentially living a beta lifestyle. They are passive and don’t want to challenge the norms. They will keep on thinking world is unfair to them and will always have somebody to blame.

Cool do that, that’s what society wants from you, they want people to follow the social norms without challenging them. This way the people who are at the top of the social hierarchy will keep on exercising their control and bending the world to their will.

If only you knew it’s mostly a decision, nobody is born with an alpha gene. At some point, you just decide that you want to take back control of your life.

Be an ALPHA, stand up for what you believe in, disrupt patters, change shit, don’t be a passive little bitch crying in the corner thinking world is unfair!

So I came across this question while scrolling my facebook feed and it got me into a deep thinking session with myself. Now I...

So I came across this question while scrolling my facebook feed and it got me into a deep thinking session with myself.

Now I have always considered myself to be a risk taker, coming from a family where everyone is focused on getting a job, I was the only one to break the pattern and start my own thing. But when posed with this question, my default reaction was to go for $4000 per week. Now, the reason I choose that option was, I thought it will be a more stable thing and I would be able to make 2 million dollars in around 11 years through this kinda arrangement.

But I completely missed a huge point, if I have 2 million dollars right now and I make some ‘smart investing’ decisions, I could take that 2 million to 100 million dollars or more in a period of 11 years. Now that’s how entrepreneurs or so called risk takers think. Of course, I could fuck up and lose the $2 million dollars overnight but that’s part of the game.

I figured maybe subconsciously because of the way we all have been raised we are conditioned to look for stability. Knowing as much as I know now, taking risks is the only way to get ahead in the game. ‘High risk high rewards’ is an old adage and it stands truer than ever in current scenarios where the technology and the world are changing at the speed of lightning.

Now the lesson I learned from this is, even though I have always considered myself different from the rest (I know I sound like an egotistical bastard) but subconsciously I still reach out for stability. I really don’t know if it’s a good thing or a bad thing. But I do know, I would have to cause a pattern interrupt if I have to achieve the results I am looking for.

Anyhow, I do think this is an interesting question and you should take a moment and answer it yourself, you will get to know new things about yourself. Untill next time, see ya!

“You are never fascinated by money. Just think about it. You think you are, but you are not. You are actually fascinated by the lifestyle you think you would have when you have that much amount of money”

So you go around working in an average job, doing 9 to 5 and sometimes 10 to 6 (them night shifts) life is just mundane, you work from Monday to Friday and then party during the weekends. I guess that sums up more than 80% of the people in this world. Don’t worry, if you find yourself in this category follow my other series Mentor Steps to know how to break out of this vicious cycle.

Anyways, I was no exception, straight after college, got a decent paying job in a huge MNC, worked there for about 2 years and left it when I couldn’t take it anymore. Just 4 months after leaving that DJD (Day Job of Doom), I applied for a job I was really interested in, cleared the interview rounds and got selected. This job was like my dream job, sitting in a cool office, doing the work I like, working with young people as myself, getting paid a handsome salary. Basically, everything an average guy would be happy to get, but not me. After working there for about 4 months I soon realized, I was fooling myself, even though I was making a handsome sum every month, the discontent from my previous job was still there. I still felt I deserved something better. Although money was not an issue anymore, time was, I had no time to give to my family, no time for my hobbies, no time for travel (probably my biggest pain point)

So as the fate would have it, just like my previous job, the pain was getting out of hand, and I decided to leave the job. I do feel sorry for the way I left it, I was too immature and left the job without any warning to my team, I should have been more empathetic. But yeah, I don’t regret the decision of leaving, just as I don’t regret the decision of leaving my first job.

Moreover, I will go so far as to say, the decision to leave my job was probably the best decision I ever made. I have realized along the way, it’s not in my nature to work a desk job. I rarely find any excitement or joy in that, even the idea of working at the same place and same desk for over a month, disgusts me now. Not to disregard my current state of mind, but I do acknowledge my thought pattern might eventually change and maybe I will be okay with the idea of working a day job.

Coming to the present, I am probably at my best, living the life I dreamt of at one point, making money, traveling the world, seeing and experiencing different cultures. So what I have realized is, it’s not so much about ‘making the right decision’ (sic) than ‘making a decision and sticking to it’. Always be bold in all your actions and don’t just talk the talk, be ready to walk the talk cause boldness at the time of confusion and fear is what gets you to make the breakthrough. See ya guys, take care, Until next time!
